Cast It Away

I recall a song titled, “take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there.”

How easy it really sounded when I use to sing this song during my early church years. Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there.

We all know the importance of going to God in prayer or supplication when problems arise in our lives. That is very easy to do. Going to God in prayer. However, the difficulty often comes when it gets to the part of leaving that problem there!

We will go to God and say, "Lord it is in your hands" however if we do not receive an answer soon, we will often go back and take that same problem with the intentions of finding our own solution. This is when we mess up. In so many words we are saying, “well, since God isn’t moving fast enough I am going to take this burden back on myself and see what I can do!”  Before you know it, you are depressed, oppressed, distressed, discouraged, and just plain feeling low.  Another day has come and gone and you have not accomplished anything because you were focusing on what belongs to God - Your Problem.

1 Peter 5:7 reads, “Casting all your care upon him: for he careth for you.” This one scripture is letting us know that all we have to do is give that problem to Jesus. He knows what you are going through. He knows all about the problems. He cares enough for you to take you burden upon himself. Can you give them to him?

The word says, “casting all your care upon him.”  I looked up the meaning of casting. That is to throw far away, to throw upon, to get from within reach. So casting means to hand it over to God and move on. Let Jesus fix it for you.

Just think how we hold on to all these cares (problems).  When it is so much easier to give it to Jesus and move forward. He will come through for you at his own perfect timing. First, we must do what he has instructed us to do which is “CAST” those problems at his feet. Let him get the solution for it.

Oh what needless pain we bare, all because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer.

It is my prayer that Today’s Inspiration was a blessing to you.
